Applications opened on 18 March and will close on 15 July 2019 – so there’s plenty of time to put your entry (or entries) together.
When can I enter the awards?
Visit our online application portal to create an account to get started. Once you have registered, you can save your progress and come back as often as you need to before submitting each entry.
How do I enter?
Absolutely. We encourage it. Each specialist category has different criteria and requires a seperate entry – so choose wisely, focus your efforts, and make sure you really stand out before committing to additional entries.
Can I enter more than one award category?
Each question allows a response up to 500 words. Focus on what’s important and keep track of your word count – if your response is too long, only the first 500 words will be judged.
Is there a word limit?
Yes! You can upload supporting images or graphs as high-resolution attachments. If you want to include video or online content, please include the video or web link in your response to the question. Don’t forget to provide passwords if needed for download links.
Can I add images, videos or links to my entry?
Tickets will go on sale in August. Register your interest in advance and we'll let you know as soon as they're available.
Where do I get tickets for Awards Night?

15 July – Applications close. Stage 1 judging begins
5 August – Stage 1 judging ends. Awards Night tickets go on sale
5–16 August – Shortlisted entrants invited to Stage 2 judging

Who can help with my entry?
Your job is to convince the judging panel that you’re the best business in your category.
Be yourself, be compelling, and make sure you can back your claims up with evidence.
Read the criteria carefully and make sure you address each question.
The judges will only have the information you provide in your entry, so make sure you answer thoroughly.
Make sure your claims are clear and supported.
Award-winning submissions always include data and evidence because doing so ensures credibility and believability.
What makes a good application?
NZTE are delighted to continue our partnership with ExportNZ aligning regional export award programmes with the NZIBA. This allows us to champion and support regional winners who will then be automatically shortlisted for the New Zealand International Business Awards .
